Most CapCut problems have simple causes. Work through the section that matches what you see, and you will usually be editing again in a few minutes.
The app will not install
- **Not enough space.** Free up at least 300 MB, then try again.
- **Android version.** CapCut needs Android 5.0 or newer. Check this in your phone settings.
- **An older copy from another source.** If the app was installed from a different source before, Android may refuse an update. Uninstall the old copy, then install again from one trusted source. Back up your projects first.
- **Restart.** A quick restart clears many small glitches.
The app crashes or will not open
- Update CapCut to the latest version.
- Open your phone settings, find CapCut under Apps, then Storage, and clear the cache.
- Close other apps to free up memory.
- Restart the phone.

You cannot see your videos
CapCut needs permission to reach your photos and videos. Open the app permissions in settings and allow access to your media.
Export fails or freezes
- Make sure you have free storage, because exports need room.
- Close other apps and keep the screen on.
- Try a lower resolution or frame rate. Our export settings guide shows sensible choices.
- For a very long project, export it in two parts.
Templates or effects will not load
These items need an internet connection. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, and try again in a moment.
Preview looks slow or choppy
Preview speed depends on your phone. Lower the preview quality if the app offers it, and avoid stacking many effects at once.
